Nearly 98,000 IDPs reside in Sumy region

As of mid-May, approximately 98,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) reside in the Sumy region.

That’s according to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, as reported by Ukrinform.

“About 98,000 IDPs live in the Sumy region,” the administration stated in a Facebook post.

Earlier in April, Ukrinform reported that nearly 96,000 IDPs were officially registered in the region.

As of April 10, 18 designated compact housing facilities for IDPs were available, accommodating up to 824 people.

Meanwhile, evacuations continue in the Bilopillia and Vorozhba communities. Since May 5, nearly 1,200 people have been evacuated.

In total, more than 86,000 residents in the region require evacuation, with 58% already relocated.
