
One person was killed and six more injured by Russian shelling in the Donetsk region on Saturday, May 17.
Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, announced this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
“Kramatorsk district. In Andriivka, five people were injured, and two cars were damaged. In Yablunivka of the Illinivka community, one person was killed, 18 facilities damaged, and five more facilities were damaged in Oleksandro-Kalynove and one in Stepanivka,” the statement reads.
In addition, in Kostiantynivka, six private houses, a multi-story building, and an administrative building were damaged. A shop was damaged in Novodmytrivka.
In Lyman and Yampil, administrative buildings and a private house were damaged. In Zarichne, 14 houses were damaged. In Vasiutynske of the Mykolaivka community, one house was destroyed and two were damaged.
According to the regional governor, four houses were damaged in Siversk, Bakhmut district.
In Novofedorivka of the Kryvorizhzhia community in the Pokrovsk district, a hangar and a warehouse were destroyed. One person was injured in Pokrovsk, and two houses were damaged.
In total, over the past day, Russian forces shelled settlements in the Donetsk region 33 times. As many as 130 people were evacuated from frontline areas, including 22 children.
On May 16, two civilians were killed and nine more injured in the Donetsk region.
