That is according to a press release published on the UK government’s website, cited by Ukrinform.

The new restrictions affect 100 designated entities and individuals involved in Russia’s military apparatus, energy exports, financial networks, and those engaged in information warfare against Ukraine.

The sanctions target organizations that support Russia’s military machine, energy exports, and information warfare, as well as financial institutions that help fund Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Additionally, the UK imposed sanctions on supply chains linked to Russian weapons systems, including Iskander missiles.

“This will protect Ukrainian lives, and our collective security by disrupting Russia’s military machine,” the British government emphasized.

Today’s sanctions also target 14 members of Russia’s Social Design Agency, a Kremlin-funded organization conducting information operations aimed at undermining the sovereignty, democracy, and rule of law in Ukraine and across the world.

The UK government stated that these new measures will strike at the heart of Putin’s efforts to circumvent sanctions and help block his failing attempts to reconnect to the international economy.

The sanctions also include 46 financial institutions aiding Russia in evading existing restrictions, as well as the St. Petersburg Currency Exchange and the Russian Deposit Insurance Agency, which insures Russian banks.

“These new sanctions will further isolate the Russian economy and disrupt Russia’s revenue streams,” the UK government noted.

Finally, the UK sanctioned 18 more “shadow fleet” vessels transporting Russian oil, along with their enablers. Among them is John Michael Ormerod, a British national who procured ships for Russia’s shadow fleet, as well as two Russian tanker captains.

The press release also mentioned that the UK, along with its international partners, is working to tighten the Oil Price Cap.

As Ukrinform previously reported, on May 20, EU foreign ministers adopted the 17th package of sanctions against Russia, targeting nearly 200 shadow fleet ship.
