As of May 23, 2025, the total combat losses of Russian forces in the war against Ukraine have reached approximately 978,700 personnel, with 1,050 of those losses occurring in the past 24 hours.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
In addition to personnel, Russian forces have lost: 10,841 tanks (+2), 22,575 armored combat vehicles (+1), 28,165 artillery systems (+43), 1,390 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) (+2), 1,167 air defense systems (no change), 372 aircraft (no change), 336 helicopters (no change), 36,945 operational-tactical UAVs (+148), 3,197 cruise missiles (no change), 28 warships/boats (no change), one submarine (no change), 49,407 vehicles and fuel tanks (+139), 3,895 units of special equipment (no change).
