Four killed, seven injured in Kharkiv region due to Russian shelling in past 24 hrs

On May 23, four people were killed and seven others injured as a result of enemy shelling in Kharkiv region.

This was reported on Telegram by Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov, according to Ukrinform.

“As a result of the shelling, two 60-year-old men were killed in Kupiansk, and a 49-year-old man was injured. In Chuhuiv, a 33-year-old woman was killed, while a 58-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman were injured. In the village of Staryi Saltiv, two men aged 45 and 47 were injured. In Vilkhuvatka, a 78-year-old woman was killed, and two women aged 61 and 80 were injured,” the message states.

It is noted that six settlements in Kharkiv region were targeted by enemy strikes over the past day.

The enemy used various types of weapons in the attacks, including three missiles, four guided aerial bombs, two FPV drones, six Geran-2 drones, and nine other drones (type yet to be identified).

The attacks damaged or destroyed civilian infrastructure. In Kupiansk district, ten private homes, a municipal building, two vehicles, and a warehouse were damaged. In Chuhuiv district, a private house, warehouse, and crane truck were damaged. In Izium district, three private homes were affected.

According to Kharkiv regional police, 12 more people were evacuated from Kupiansk district due to ongoing shelling.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, in the morning of May 23, Russian troops destroyed a manufacturing facility and a road maintenance enterprise in the town of Pechenihy, Chuhuiv district, using Shahed drones.
