Russian airstrike hits Kupiansk, casualties reported

Russian forces launched an airstrike on a residential neighborhood in Kupiansk, Kharkiv region, injuring two people.

The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

Under the procedural guidance of the Kupiansk District Prosecutor’s Office of the Kharkiv region, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into a war crime (Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, on June 16, at around 15:40, the Russian army carried out an airstrike on a residential area of Kupiansk.

Strikes hit apartment buildings, and fires broke out in several flats. A man and a woman sustained blast injuries.

According to preliminary information, at least three civilians may have been killed.

The situation in the city remains difficult, and due to security risks, emergency response at the scene is complicated.
