Zelensky arrives in Canada to attend G7 summit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived in Kananaskis, Canada, to participate in the G7 summit. The head of state is expected to hold bilateral meetings with the leaders of Canada, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Japan, Brazil, India, the European Union, and NATO.

According to the organizers of the G7 summit, today, Zelensky will take part in a special session of G7 leaders titled “A strong and sovereign Ukraine” on the sidelines of the summit. His visit program includes a number of meetings with the leaders of Canada, France, the United Kingdom, Japan, Italy, Brazil, and India. Talks are also expected between Zelensky and the heads of the European Union and NATO.

The two-day summit of the G7 member states officially began on Monday, June 16, in the Canadian province of Alberta.

U.S. President Donald Trump left the G7 summit ahead of schedule and will not participate in signing the joint communique originally planned for June 17.
