Kyiv authorities hope to complete the bulk of emergency and search and rescue operations by the end of the day.

This was stated by Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko during a television broadcast, according to Ukrinform.

“Law enforcement officers have been and will continue to maintain public order around the clock in the neighborhoods that came under Russian attacks and where residential infrastructure was destroyed. We will keep working, and while I don’t want to make predictions, I hope that by the end of the day we will complete the main emergency and search-and-rescue operations,” said Klymenko.

He noted that, as of now, 22 people have been killed in Kyiv as a result of the Russian attack, with 17 of them dying under the rubble of a nine-story building in the Solomianskyi district. Search-and-rescue efforts are ongoing, and rescuers have reached the basement level of the building.

“Throughout the night, 500 rescuers worked in shifts clearing the rubble,” the minister added.
