Seven people have been confirmed dead following a Russian missile strike on Kyiv and the region. Rescue operations are still underway.

The Ministry of Health reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

“According to the Emergency Medical Service and Disaster Medicine Center, 33 medical teams responded on the ground, including 28 in the capital. Twenty-seven people required medical assistance, with 14 hospitalized. One of the victims—a resident of the Chernihiv region—is in serious condition. Preliminary data from local authorities confirms seven fatalities in Kyiv and the surrounding region. Rescue efforts continue,” the statement said.

As Ukrinform previously reported, overnight June 23, Russia launched another missile and drone attack targeting the capital and other regions. In Kyiv, the shelling damaged residential buildings, hit the Sviatoshyn metro station, and triggered fires across multiple districts.

Earlier reports indicated that six people had died and 19 were injured in Kyiv alone. In Bila Tserkva, one death and eight injuries were also reported.
