Ukraine intercepts 22 of 23 Russian attack drones since last night

Ukraine’s air defense forces neutralized 22 of 23 drones launched by the Russians since last evening.

That’s according to the Air Force press service, Ukrinform reports.

From 22:00 on Friday, June 27, Russian invaders launched 23 Shahed attack UAVs and decoy drones of various types from Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russian Federation) and Chauda (temporarily occupied Crimea).

Odesa was the main target of the attack, the report notes.

As of 09:00, the air defense had neutralized 22 enemy drones in southern Ukraine. Twenty-one of them were shot down and another one was suppressed by electronic warfare.

A UAV hit was recorded on the ground in one location within Odesa, while debris plunged in eight locations.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on the night of June 28, the Russians targeted a 21-storey apartment block in Odesa. As a result of the drone attack, a fire broke out on the 7th, 8th, and 9th floors, with some residents finding themselves trapped in their apartments. Rescuers retrieved the bodies of a couple who died as a result of the attack.

Nine people were hurt.
