Kateryna Borsynska, a teacher at Mykhailivskyi Lyceum, and her husband Valentyn were killed in Odesa during a Russian nighttime drone strike carried out by Russian forces.
Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
“As a result of enemy shelling, a person of the most peaceful profession was killed—a teacher and social pedagogue at Mykhailivskyi Lyceum, Kateryna Borsynska, along with her husband Valentyn,” he wrote.
The Odesa City Council also reported that 17 people—including three boys aged 3, 7, and 14—were injured and experienced acute stress reactions. Authorities are continuing to verify information about other possible victims.
As earlier reported by Ukrinform, on the night of June 28, a Russian drone struck a 21-story residential building in Odesa. The impact ignited a fire on the 7th, 8th, and 9th floors, leaving some residents trapped in their apartments. Rescuers later recovered the bodies of the couple, who were killed when a drone struck their home.
