President Volodymyr Zelensky says during the latest meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, the main topics included the supply of Patriot systems, strengthening the sanctions regime, and economic cooperation based on the recently signed Minerals Deal.
The head of state announced this today in Kyiv during a joint press opportunity with Polish President Andrzej Duda, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“We had a good meeting with President Trump, the range of topics is as broad as possible. We discussed all the issues that are interesting – first of all, related to Patriot systems, how to protect our skies, and other steps related to the negotiation process, as well as the sanctions area, our bilateral relations after the signing of the relevant agreement. So this is a wide spectrum,” Zelensky said.
He noted that further negotiations between the U.S. and Ukraine would continue at the government level.
“Furthermore, we agreed that the defense chiefs, their secretary of state and our minister of foreign affairs will communicate at their level, at various levels, the head of my office, and also his American counterparts. On economic issues – our first vice-prime minister with Secretary Bessent, and also some other American colleagues,” the President said.
He noted that “it is important that the parties work.”
“It seems to me that the spirit of that conversation was productive. Therefore, this is a good signal,” the head of state noted.
As Ukrinform reported, on June 25, the Ukrainian and U.S. presidents met on the sidelines of the NATO summit in The Hague.
