Under the directive of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Russian government has been tasked with submitting proposals for the use of temporarily occupied territories in Ukraine, including plans to establish transport and logistics centers.
According to the Center for Countering Disinformation at Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, which reported the information via Facebook and was cited by Ukrinform, these plans reflect Russia’s increasing efforts to exploit occupied lands to serve its military objectives.
“On behalf of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, the Russian government is to prepare proposals for utilizing land in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories. This includes the establishment of logistics hubs and the expansion of rail-based freight transport,” the statement said.
The Center emphasized that, despite appearing to pursue economic development, the real intention behind these plans is to streamline military logistics. The proposed infrastructure upgrades are expected to facilitate the steady movement of weapons, ammunition, and equipment to Russian forces engaged in the war against Ukraine.
Previously, the Center reported that Moscow is also planning the seizure of agricultural land within the occupied territories, with the aim of integrating those lands into Russia’s administrative system.
