A Navy cutter crew rescued five civilians carried out into the open sea on inflatable rings amid the storm.
That’s according to the Navy press service, Ukrinform reports.
The service members responded to a signal about the distraught civilians from a coast guard unit while performing tasks at sea.
The crew promptly came to the aid of civilians.
The Navy emphasizes that a serious mine threat remains in place on the Black Sea coast and in its waters, warning against swimming, boating, and engaging in other water recreation in prohibited areas.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, military divers in Odesa region retrieved an FAB-500 aerial bomb from the Black Sea before neutralizing it.
