Russian forces are making every effort to expand their foothold on the western bank of the Oskil River.

That is according to Pavlo Shamshyn, Spokesperson for the Kharkiv Operational Tactical Group, speaking on Ukrainian television, Ukrinform reports.

“The situation remains quite tense around the village of Dvorichna. The enemy is doing everything possible to expand its foothold on the western bank of the Oskil River. Daily assault operations are taking place, particularly near the settlements of Dvorichna, Vilkhivka, Krasne Pershe, Kamianka, and Stroivka,” Shamshyn stated.

Meanwhile, near the village of Lyptsi, Russian forces attempted to reclaim previously lost positions but suffered significant losses.

“The situation around Lyptsi hasn’t changed much. The Russians tried to regain ground toward the forest area they themselves named ‘Berlin,’ but they sustained heavy losses and failed to make any progress,” he added.

Shamshyn also confirmed that Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue to hold their positions on the hotly contested Vovchansk front.

As Ukrinform previously reported, Ukrainian defenders are successfully maintaining control over territory on the northern bank of the Vovcha River, including around the aggregate plant in Vovchansk.
