Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and President of the World Bank Group Ajay Banga have discussed joint projects.
The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
At a meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the UN Conference on Financing for Development, Shmyhal thanked Banga for supporting Ukraine.
As emphasized by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, since the Russian full-scale invasion started, the World Bank has already mobilized more than USD 77 billion in support of Ukraine.
According to Shmyhal, Ukraine and the World Bank are jointly implementing 18 projects at the moment, namely those related to the restoration of transport and energy infrastructure, housing, construction of shelters in schools, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, and agriculture.
As noted by the Prime Minister, joint efforts are underway to prepare for post-war recovery. In particular, this refers to launching an effective public investment management system and developing scenarios for Ukraine’s accelerated economic integration with the EU.
A reminder that earlier Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen discussed Ukraine’s sustainable financing of for 2026-2027 to support the country’s economy and recovery.
