Pause in military support for Ukraine must end as soon as possible, says Trump’s spiritual advisor

Every delay in military aid to Ukraine costs lives, so the pause in supplying weapons to Ukrainians must end as soon as possible, as there is no room for compromise with a regime that bombs civilian targets, burns churches, and kills innocent women and children.

This position was expressed in a comment to Ukrinform by US President Donald Trump’s spiritual advisor, American pastor Mark Burns.

“When Vladimir Putin offered to “help” the U.S. with the Israel-Iran war, President Trump didn’t hesitate. He shut that down immediately and made it clear: if you want to help, stop attacking Ukraine,” the spiritual advisor said.

He stressed that “There’s no room for compromise with a regime that bombs civilian targets, burns churches, and kills innocent women and children.” What Russia is doing in Ukraine is not just war, it is war crimes, and the world must call it that, Burns emphasized.

According to him, President Trump’s leadership continues to be a force for peace in a world that desperately needs it. Under his bold and decisive direction, we’ve seen an end to three major global conflicts: the war between Israel and Iran, the bloody conflict between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda, and the long-standing tensions between India and Pakistan.

“ These are historic breakthroughs that show what real leadership and diplomacy can do when guided by strength and moral clarity in which he aims to do the same with Ukraine and Russia,” said the American pastor.

He also recalled that during meetings at the NATO summit, President Trump spoke about the possibility of further US support for Ukraine.

“There’s been a temporary pause in the shipment of defensive weapons like precision-guided shells and Hellfire missiles for Ukraine’s F-16s. That pause needs to end as soon as possible. Every delay costs lives. Every moment we wait gives Russia more time to destroy,” Burns emphasized.

According to the pastor, there are indeed people in the Pentagon who believe that the main goal of the US should be to counter China.

“But here’s the truth. If we don’t stop Russia in Ukraine, they’ll move on Moldova next, then the Baltic states. That would trigger Article 5 of the NATO treaty, which would commit the United States not just to send more weapons, but to send American soldiers,” he stressed.

According to Burns, no American wants US troops to be involved in another war. So now the US has a chance to stop it.

“We need to arm Ukraine heavily, not to escalate the war, but to defend innocent people and save lives. I’ll be communicating with Secretary Hedseth to share my concerns from a humanitarian point of view. We can’t stand by and watch this happen. Supporting Ukraine is the right thing to do, and it’s also what putting America First truly means.

As reported by Ukrinform, White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly confirmed the suspension of ammunition and missile supplies to Ukraine, as US stocks have been depleted in recent years.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained to John Hinkel, the US Chargé d’Affaires in Ukraine, the critical importance of defense support for Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense sent a request for a telephone conversation with colleagues from the US to further clarify the details of defense supplies.
