The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has detained a Kherson resident who, acting on orders from Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), coordinated Russian artillery strikes on the city of Kherson from the east bank of the Dnipro River.
The man was awaiting the full occupation of southern Ukraine by Russian forces, Ukrinform reports, citing the SBU.

Cybersecurity experts at the SBU established that the suspect used a chatbot operated by the Russian intelligence service to direct enemy fire.
The individual, a 25-year-old unemployed local resident, was recruited by the FSB through Telegram channels after posting pro-Russian comments there.
Acting as an agent, he scouted and shared the geolocations of temporary deployment sites of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, as well as critical energy infrastructure. Additionally, he monitored the locations and consequences of Russian strikes and reported this information back to the FSB.
The SBU detained the agent and carried out comprehensive security measures to protect the locations of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and energy facilities.
During a search, law enforcement officers seized two laptops and six mobile phones with SIM cards from various operators, which the suspect used to create fake accounts in an attempt to hide his collaboration with the enemy.
He has been formally charged under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law). The suspect is currently in custody and faces a potential life sentence with confiscation of property.
Earlier reports said that two Russian agents had recently been detained in Zaporizhzhia for plotting to blow up a vehicle belonging to members of the Azov Regiment.
