The U.S. Department of Defense, following an order from President Donald Trump, will provide Ukraine with additional defensive weapons to help protect against Russian attacks.
That is according to the statement by Pentagon Spokesperson Sean Parnell, Ukrinform reports.
“At President Trump’s direction, the Department of Defense is sending additional defensive weapons to Ukraine to ensure the Ukrainians can defend themselves while we work to secure a lasting peace and ensure the killing stops,” the statement reads.
It is also emphasized that the framework for assessing U.S. military aid worldwide under the President’s oversight “remains in effect and is integral to our America First defense priorities.”
As Ukrinform previously reported, during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu at the White House, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that his administration intends to supply more defensive weapons to Ukraine.
