Based on evidence gathered by the Security Service of Ukraine, three Russian agents who were spying in the Donetsk region were sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

According to Ukrinform, the Security Service of Ukraine reported this.

The investigation established that the perpetrators transmitted the coordinates of the Defense Forces fighting on the most intense front line – Pokrovsk – to the FSB.

“The enemy was most interested in the geolocation of headquarters and reserve command posts, as well as the routes of movement of Ukrainian Armed Forces military equipment to the line of contact. Such information was extremely important for the invaders to plan offensive operations to break through to Pokrovsk,” the report said.

The defendants in the case are three residents of the Donetsk Region who were waiting for the complete capture of the region, about which they wrote comments on Telegram channels. There, they attracted the attention of Russian special services.

One of the convicts is a 43-year-old resident of the city of Ukrainsk, who worked at the local Ukrzaliznytsia (state enterprise administering railway infrastructure) station. On behalf of the FSB, he spied on the Defense Forces’ train convoys. In addition, he was tasked with planting a homemade explosive device under the tracks to cut off the Armed Forces’ transport logistics to the front line.

It is noted that the Security Service of Ukraine exposed the agent in advance and detained him while he was preparing the sabotage in May 2023.

Another convict is the 22-year-old daughter of the rector of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, who tracked the routes of Ukrainian troops for the invaders. To do this, she installed a video camera under the dome of the church.

Another perpetrator is a 34-year-old employee of the Ukrzaliznytsia (state enterprise administering railway infrastructure) from the city of Rodynske, who passed on to the FSB the locations of bridges used by Ukrainian Armed Forces convoys to move to the eastern front.

Based on evidence gathered by Security Service investigators, the court found the perpetrators guilty under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code (treason committed under martial law).

As reported by Ukrinform, a Russian FSB agent who spied for the enemy at the State Space Agency of Ukraine was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
