Russian forces shell Sumy region 85 times in past 24 hours, 13 injured

Russian troops carried out 85 attacks on Ukraine’s northeastern Sumy region on July 14, injuring 13 people.

The Sumy Regional Military Administration reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

“From the morning of July 14 to the morning of July 15, 2025, Russian forces conducted 85 strikes on 34 settlements across 13 territorial communities of the region,” the statement said.

The most intense shelling was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts. In the Sumy community, a drone attack injured 12 civilians, including a 14-year-old child. In the Shostka community, another 14-year-old was wounded in a missile strike.

Russian forces launched nearly 20 attacks using multiple launch rocket systems, around ten VOG grenade drops from drones, and approximately 30 guided aerial bomb strikes. Additionally, FPV drones, other UAVs, and missiles were used.

In the Sumy community, the attack damaged an educational institution, a healthcare facility, a vehicle, and several non-residential buildings. In the Hlukhiv community, civilian infrastructure was hit. In the Shostka community, apartment blocks and private homes, as well as a medical facility, sustained damage.

Over the course of the day, 24 people were evacuated from border communities. On July 14, the air raid alert in the region lasted for 21 hours and 46 minutes.

On July 13, Russian forces shelled the Sumy region 90 times, resulting in civilian casualties and injuries.
