As many as 78 combat engagements have taken place between Ukrainian forces and Russian troops, with the Pokrovsk sector seeing the most intense fighting.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said this in its latest war update published on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
Russian artillery shelling targeted Yanzhulivka in the Chernihiv region, Sosnivka, Khliborob, Petrushivka, Velyka Pysarivka, Marine, Sopych, and Buniakyne in the Sumy region, and Tymofiivka in the Kharkiv region.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, the enemy launched 23 attacks, with four clashes still ongoing. Russian aircraft carried out eight airstrikes, dropping 12 guided bombs. Additionally, 131 artillery strikes were recorded against Ukrainian positions and civilian settlements.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Russian troops launched three assaults near Vovchansk and Krasne Pershe.
In the Kupiansk sector, fighting continues near Stepova Novoselivka.
In the Lyman sector, Russian forces launched eight attacks near Korovii Yar, Karpivka, Kolodiazi, Shandryholove, and Torske. Two battles are ongoing.
In the Siversk sector, no active offensive actions were reported.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian units repelled two assaults near Bila Hora.
In the Toretsk sector, Ukrainian troops successfully fended off three Russian attempts to breach defenses near Shcherbynivka and Oleksandro-Kalynove.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian forces conducted 28 attempts to dislodge Ukrainian defenders in the areas of Poltavka, Volodymyrivka, Novoekonomichne, Lysivka, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Molodetske, Udachne, Orikhove, and Oleksiivka. Ukrainian forces repelled 24 attacks, and fighting continues.
In the Novopavlivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled three assaults, with another engagement still ongoing. Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions near Zirka, Vilne Pole, Novopil, and toward Oleksandrohrad.
In the Huliaipole sector, Russian aircraft struck Zaliznychne with unguided rockets. No ground attacks were reported.
In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian forces repelled one attack near Kamianske. Russian aircraft struck Novodanylivka and Plavni.
In the Dnipro River sector, six engagements took place. The enemy attempted to advance toward Dniprovske, Sadove, Prydniprovske, and the areas of Hola Prystan and Kozulskyi Island. Olhivka was hit by an airstrike.
