Ukraine and Israel have agreed to launch a dedicated dialogue on the Iranian threat, which — alongside Russian policies — poses a shared existential danger to both countries and to global security.

This was announced by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha during a joint press conference with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar in Kyiv, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.

The head of Ukraine’s diplomacy stated that during talks with his Israeli counterpart, particular attention was paid to regional security issues, including peaceful resolution efforts in the Middle East. In this context, he assured that Ukraine has always been and remains committed to international law, the protection of civilians, and the pursuit of just solutions.

Sybiha emphasized that Ukraine and Israel are currently facing common security challenges.

“Iran and Russia represent an existential threat not only to our countries but to global security as a whole. Iran continues to destabilize the region, seeks to advance its nuclear program, and supplies weapons to terrorist groups. Moscow, Tehran, and Pyongyang have united in a criminal alliance of regimes that support one another and threaten the entire free world. In light of these threats, we agreed to step up multilateral and bilateral cooperation. Today, we decided to launch a separate dialogue on the Iranian threat — we agreed on this with the minister,” he said.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, in turn, stressed that Iran threatens not only Israel but also regional and global security, including that of Ukraine.

“Today, we agreed to hold a strategic dialogue between our ministries regarding the Iranian threat. Our actions against Iranian weapons and technologies contribute to European and Ukrainian security. Iran must not be allowed to pursue its nuclear ambitions,” Sa’ar emphasized.

As reported by Ukrinform, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar arrived in Kyiv for an official visit on July 22.
