Drone operators from the Phoenix unit of the Pomsta (Revenge) Brigade, part of Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service, have struck Russian tanks and a BM-21 Grad multiple launch rocket system, and destroyed a compact 1L122 Garmon radar station belonging to the invaders.
The Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces announced this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
“Despite the occupiers’ attempts to shield their equipment with improvised protective structures (‘barbecue grilles’), some of the targets were destroyed, while others sustained heavy damage and will require long-term repairs,” the unit said.
The 1L122 Garmon radar station is designed to detect aerial targets at distances up to 40 km and altitudes up to 10 km. It was being used to support the enemy’s air defense operations.
One of the unit’s key objectives is disrupting Russian logistics. Operators also located and destroyed a ground-based robotic platform used by the invaders to deliver ammunition to the front line.
