Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and European Commissioner for Defense and Space Andrius Kubilius discussed the most urgent needs of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
According to Ukrinform, Shmyhal reported this on Telegram.
“We discussed the most pressing needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, as well as possible ways to strengthen military support from EU countries and institutions,” the post reads.
Particular attention was paid to innovative developments in the defense industry.
“I especially thanked [the EU] for launching the joint BraveTech EU initiative, with a budget of EUR 100 million to support defense innovations. We expect active EU involvement in funding such startups,” Shmyhal emphasized.
He also noted that Ukraine’s participation in the SAFE initiative should become one of the key tools for rapidly strengthening the country’s defense capabilities.

Shmyhal expressed gratitude to Kubilius for his personal commitment and leadership in supporting Ukraine’s fight for its future and the security of all of Europe.
As reported earlier, Shmyhal and Norwegian Defense Minister Tore Sandvik discussed the results of the recent UDCG meeting.
