Three people may be trapped under the rubble of a medical facility in Kharkiv that was hit by a Russian airstrike.

This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, and the mayor, Ihor Terekhov, according to Ukrinform.

“At the site of the shelling, it is not possible to establish contact with three people who were supposed to be in the medical facility. Experts do not rule out that they may be under the rubble. State Emergency Service personnel are working at the site, and a search and rescue operation is underway,” the mayor said in a post on Telegram.

According to Syniehubov, the three people are patients of the damaged facility.

At the same time, the death of a person reported immediately after the strike has not been confirmed. As the spokesman for the regional prosecutor’s office, Dmytro Chubenko, told the agency’s correspondent, this is a patient who died the previous morning, and his body was found at the site of the strike.

According to Amil Omarov, head of the Kharkiv regional prosecutor’s office, the Russians used UMPB 5.

“The city was hit by two guided aerial bombs. The first target was a functioning medical facility with patients and medical staff inside. Unfortunately, there are casualties, and their condition is moderate. Today, UMBP 5 [universal inter-species gliding ammunition] was used, as it was yesterday, against the civilian population and civilian objects. Su-34 aircraft from the Belgorod region were used,” Omarov said.
