Ukrainian defense manufacturer UkrArmoTech has presented its domestically developed armored vehicles — Gyurza-02 and Tisa — at the IDEF 2025 International Defense Industry Fair in Istanbul.
The company’s director, Hennadii Khirhii, shared details in a comment to Ukrinform.
“We’re showcasing two of our key developments at IDEF 2025 — the Gyurza-02 and the Tisa. These vehicles are codified in Ukraine and have NATO item numbers. They are already being delivered to various units of our country’s defense forces. We also produce the Gyurza-01, which currently makes up the majority of the armored vehicles supplied to our military,” Khirhii said.
He noted that the company’s products have proven themselves well on the battlefield, and continuous upgrades are being made based on real front-line experience.
“Our vehicles have performed exceptionally. In multiple incidents involving anti-tank mines, everyone inside the vehicles survived. That’s the most valuable outcome for us — a testament to the quality of our work,” he said.
UkrArmoTech’s R&D department includes over 50 specialists. The company works closely with the military to refine existing models and develop new ones.
“We incorporate front-line feedback directly into our design process. We maintain daily contact with the military and have a dedicated support team that regularly visits units, monitors how the vehicles are used, and provides maintenance and repair services,” Khirhii added.
The Gyurza-02 armored vehicle, he explained, was developed through this direct coordination between users and manufacturer.
“The Gyurza-2 features an independent suspension and a specially designed chassis — our own development — which allows it to carry heavier loads. It offers greater protection than its predecessor and is fully mine- and ambush-resistant,” he said.
Also showcased at the company’s booth is the production-model Tisa armored vehicle.
“This vehicle was built with combat experience in mind. It was designed for use by mobile groups and in reconnaissance operations. It’s compact, agile, and well-protected. We’ve received a surge of orders for the Tisa, more than we expected — and demand is continuing to grow,” Khirhii said.
He also revealed that new armored vehicle designs are in the works.
“We’re developing several types of vehicles needed on the front lines and plan to unveil prototypes soon. We’re also working on a range of remote weapon stations that allow fire to be controlled directly from within the vehicle, among other innovations. Our goal is to integrate every solution that can support our defenders,” he said.
IDEF is one of the world’s leading defense industry exhibitions, featuring around 1,500 companies from over 50 countries. The 2025 edition is being held in Istanbul from July 22-27.
