Turkey firmly and consistently supports Ukraine’s territorial integrity, independence, and sovereignty, including Crimea, and is committed to achieving a just and lasting peace.

Turkish presidential chief adviser Yalcin Topcu said this in an interview with Ukrinform.

“Our country has firmly and consistently supported Ukraine’s territorial integrity, independence, and sovereignty, including Crimea, on all international platforms and at the highest level. […] Turkey is striving to achieve a just and lasting peace that will end the war between Russia and Ukraine, which has been devastating for both nations, the region, and the world,” Topcu said.

According to him, Turkey will continue to advocate for this position across all global platforms, guided by the principle: “Peace has no losers, and war has no winners.”

“President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was the only leader able to hold talks with both sides during the most difficult phases of the war. Thanks to his close dialogue with other world leaders, the grain deal became possible,” Topcu said.

He stressed that regardless of circumstances, political, diplomatic, and trade channels must remain open.

Negotiations between Ukraine and Russia were held in Istanbul on May 16, June 2, and July 23, resulting in progress on humanitarian issues, including prisoner exchanges and the repatriation of fallen soldiers. Ukraine continues to call for a leaders’ summit, and President Erdogan has reiterated that Turkey is ready to host such talks.
