Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed his recent conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump and European partners during a call with French President Emmanuel Macron.
As reported by Ukrinform, Zelensky said this in a post on Telegram.
“I spoke with President of France Emmanuel Macron. I shared with him Ukraine’s perspective on yesterday’s conversation with President Trump and our European colleagues. Emmanuel informed about his contacts with other leaders, those that had already taken place earlier in the day and those still planned,” Zelensky wrote.
He noted that he and Macron agreed to further discuss the outcomes of their conversations with other leaders throughout the day.
He stressed that Ukraine and France are coordinating their positions and share a common view on the need for a unified European approach to key security issues affecting the continent.
“Much depends – both now and in the long term – on the prudence and effectiveness of each step taken by Europe and America,” Zelensky said.
According to him, both sides agreed that efforts at the advisor level and the leadership level must yield concrete results.
“We remain mindful of the need for a real ceasefire. Ukraine is ready for it, and there has been no clear public response from Russia yet. The near future must show what the consequences will be if Russia continues to drag out the war and disrupt constructive efforts,” he added.
