Russians continue to strike Ukrainian territory and continue to kill on the day of negotiations with the United States.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in his evening address, Ukrinform reports.

He assured that he was receiving reports from Ukrainian intelligence and diplomats about preparations for the meeting in Alaska and what Russian dictator Vladimir Putin was bringing with him.

“We are also receiving reports from regions of Ukraine following Russian strikes. Sumy – a Russian strike on the central market. Dnipropetrovsk – strikes on cities and enterprises. Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Donetsk – deliberate Russian strikes. The war continues. It continues precisely because there is not only no order, but also no signals that Moscow is preparing to end this war. On the day of the negotiations, they are also killing. And that speaks volumes,” he said.

According to him, the Ukrainian authorities discussed with the United States and European countries what could really work.

“Everyone wants an honest end to the war. Ukraine is ready to work as productively as possible to end the war. We hope for a strong position from America. Everything will depend on this — the Russians respect American strength. Strength, specifically,” Zelensky said.

The president said that the Ukrainian government is continuing to coordinate with Ukraine’s partners in Europe.

“I spoke today with French President Macron. The team is also in contact. The time difference with Alaska is 11 hours. So tomorrow will start early for everyone in Europe. We are preparing for the relevant talks,” the head of state said.

He emphasized that Russia must end the war that it started and has dragged on for years.

“The killings must stop. A meeting of leaders is needed. At least Ukraine, America, and Russia. Effective solutions are possible in this format. Security guarantees are needed. Lasting peace is very much needed. Everyone knows the key goals,” Zelensky emphasized.
