
In Sviatohorivka and Dobropillia, Donetsk region, Russian shelling damaged private houses and apartment buildings, leaving two civilians dead.
According to Ukrinform, the State Emergency Service reported this on Facebook.
In Sviatohorivka, shelling of a residential area killed two people. A fire destroyed two houses, and rescuers recovered the victims’ bodies and extinguished the blaze, which covered 60 square meters.
In Dobropillia, part of a five-story residential building was destroyed, and rescuers pulled a man from the rubble.
Shelling of a private residential area also ignited houses, a garage, and a car. Rescuers contained the fire, which spread across 150 square meters, but were forced to suspend extinguishing due to repeated strikes.
Later, another hit on an apartment building caused fires in an apartment and balconies, burning more than 130 square meters.
On August 16, Russian forces killed five residents of the Donetsk region over the past day.
