President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that successful tests of the domestically produced Flamingo missile have already taken place, and mass production is set to begin in January-February.
The President announced this during a conversation with journalists yesterday, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
“The tests of this missile were successful. And so far, it is the most successful missile we have—it flies 3,000 kilometers, which is important. I believe that we cannot talk much about it until we can use hundreds of missiles. By December, we will have more of them. And by the end of December or in January-February, mass production should begin,” Zelensky stated.
He also noted that in this matter, “we need to consider the financing of this program.”
As previously reported, Ukraine has unveiled the Flamingo long-range cruise missile with a range of 3,000 km. Its photo was published by photojournalist Efrem Lukatsky on Facebook. In the description of the photo, he commented that the missile has already been launched for mass production. The photo was taken on Thursday, August 14, at an undisclosed location. From the comment under the photo, it is known that the work was carried out by the Fire Point company.
