Throughout the day, 134 combat clashes took place on the front. In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian forces made 40 attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses near 17 settlements.
Ukrinform reports this, citing operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 22:00 on August 23, 2025, posted on Facebook.
“Since the beginning of the day, there have been 134 combat clashes. The enemy carried out 45 airstrikes, dropping 81 guided aerial bombs. In addition, it launched 1,439 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,169 shellings of populated areas and our troop positions,” the report reads.
According to the General Staff, in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian troops repelled two enemy assaults. The Russians also carried out five airstrikes with 17 guided bombs and 165 shellings.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, five assaults near Vovchansk, Ambarne, and towards Zelene were repelled; one battle is ongoing.
In the Kupiansk sector, two attacks were stopped near Zahryzove and towards Kupiansk.
In the Lyman sector, eight enemy assaults were repelled near Hrekivka, Ridkodub, Kolodiazi, Myrne, and towards Shandryholove, Dronivka, and Serebrianka; five clashes are ongoing.
In the Siversk sector, eight assaults occurred near Hryhorivka, Pereizne, Fedorivka, and towards Siversk.
In the Kramatorsk sector, eleven Russian assaults were repelled near Chasiv Yar and towards Markove, Stupochky, Predtechyne, and Bila Hora; two clashes are ongoing.
In the Toretsk sector, Ukrainian forces halted nine enemy assaults near Shcherbynivka and towards Pleshchiivka, Katerynivka, Poltavka, and Popiv Yar.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian forces carried out 40 assaults near Mayak, Nykanorivka, Nove Shakhove, Krasnyi Lyman, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Sukhyi Yar, Lysivka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Orikhove, Novoukrainka, and towards Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Balahan, Molodetske, and Filiia. Five clashes are ongoing.
According to preliminary data, Ukrainian troops eliminated 67 Russian soldiers and wounded 40 more. Also, they destroyed one mortar, 16 UAVs, three UAV control posts, two vehicles, one motorcycle, one electronic warfare system, and damaged one artillery gun, one piece of special equipment, three UAV control posts, and six personnel shelters.
In the Novopavlivka sector, 19 enemy assaults were stopped near Vilne Pole, Maliivka, Voskresenka, Temyrivka, and Olhivka, as well as towards Ivanivka and Zaporizke. Eight clashes are ongoing.
In the Huliaipole and Orikhiv sectors, no offensive actions by the enemy were reported.
In the Prydniprovske sector, two failed Russian attempts to advance on Ukrainian positions were reported.
