Yesterday, 179 combat clashes took place between the Defense Forces of Ukraine and Russian troops. The invaders put the most pressure on the Pokrovsk sector, and they also showed increased activity in the Novopavlivka sector.
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on Facebook, publishing operational information as of 08:00 on Sunday, August 24.
According to updated data, yesterday the Russian army carried out 61 air strikes, using 142 guided aerial bombs.
The invaders also fired 4,363 rounds, including 61 from multiple rocket launchers. 3,930 loitering munitions were involved.
Enemy airstrikes were carried out, in particular, in the areas of Stara Huta, Nova Huta, and Bunyakyne settlements of the Sumy region, and Prymorske in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Ukrainian aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces hit four objects of the Russian army yesterday: two areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, an artillery vehicle, and a control point.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian defenders repelled four enemy attacks. Russian troops used 25 guided aerial bombs on these front areas, and also shelled the sectors 176 times.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the Russians tried ten times to break through the defense lines in the areas of Vovchansk, Ambarne, Kamianka, and toward Zelene.
In the Kupiansk sector, the Russian army launched six attacks yesterday. Defence Forces repelled the assaults in the Zahryzove area and toward Kupiansk.
In the Lyman sector, the invaders attacked 20 times, tried to advance in the areas of Hrekivka, Ridkodub, Karpivka, Kolodiazi, Myrne, and toward Shandryholove, Dronivka, and Serebrianka.
In the Siversk sector, Russian troops made 12 attempts to move forward in the areas of Hryhorivka, Pereizne, Fedorivka, and toward Siversk.
In the Kramatorsk sector, 16 clashes took place in the area of Chasiv Yar, and toward Markove, Stupochky, Predtechyne, and Bila Gora.
In the Toretsk sector, the Russians carried out ten attacks in the Shcherbynivka area, and toward Pleshchiivka, Katerynivka, Poltavka, and Popiv Yar.
In the Pokrovsk sector, the Ukrainian defenders stopped 52 assaults carried out by the enemy near Maiak, Nykanorivka, Nove Shakhove, Krasnyi Lyman, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Sukhyi Yar, Lysivka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Horikhove, and Novoukrainka, toward Volodymyrivka, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Balahan, Molodetske, and Filiia.
In the Novopavlivka sector, the Russian army attacked 33 times in the areas of Vilne Pole, Maliivka, Voskresenka, Temyrivka, and Olhivka, toward Filiia, Ivanivka, and Zaporizke.
In the Huliaipole sector, there were no combat clashes yesterday.
In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled an enemy attack in the Kamianske area.
In the Prydniprovske sector, the Russian army made two futile attempts to attack the positions of the Defense Forces.
No signs of the formation of offensive groups of the Russian forces were found in the Volyn and Polissia sectors.
As Ukrinform reported, during the day, the Defense Forces killed at least 910 Russian invaders and eliminated more than two hundred units of enemy equipment.
