War update: 76 clashes on frontline, fighting continues in seven areas

Since the beginning of the day, there have been 76 combat clashes between the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Russian troops, with fighting currently continuing in seven areas of the frontline.

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted a war update as of 16:00 on Monday, August 25, on Facebook.

“Russian invaders continue to storm the positions of Ukrainian defenders. Since the beginning of the day, 76 combat clashes have been recorded,” the report said.

According to the General Staff, border settlements are suffering from artillery shelling from the territory of the Russian Federation, in particular Yasna Poliana, Tymonovychi in the Chernihiv region; Havrylova Sloboda, Malushyne, Novovasylivka, Zarichne, Prohres, Bila Bereza, Tymonovychi, Tovstodubove, Buniakyne, Vyntorivka, Studenok in the Sumy region. Stara Huta in the Sumy region was hit by an air strike.

Ukrainian defenders are currently repelling enemy attacks in the Northern Slobozhanshcyna and Kursk sectors. The enemy also carried out four air strikes, dropped seven KAB missiles, and carried out 93 shellings, including two with multiple launch rocket systems. Ukrainian units are taking active measures to disrupt the occupier’s plans and are achieving success in some locations.

In the Southern Slobozhanshcyna sector, the enemy attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders seven times near Hlyboke, Vovchansk, Ambarne, and toward Kutkivka and Kolodiazne. Four combat clashes are ongoing.

In the Kupiansk sector, four attacks are ongoing on Ukrainian military positions in the areas of Synkivka, Holubivka, Kolisnykivka, and Zahryzove.

In the Lyman sector, the invading army attacked 13 times near the settlements of Novomykhailivka, Hrekivka, Kolodiazi, Novoselivka, Zelena Dolyna, and toward Yampil and Serebrianka. The Defense Forces successfully stopped six attempts by the enemy to advance, and fighting continues.

In the Siversk sector, the enemy attempted to break through in the Fedorivka area but was repelled.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy attacked the positions of the Defense Forces seven times in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Bila Hora, and toward Stupochky; one battle is ongoing.

In the Toretsk sector, the invader attacked twice today in the areas of Dyliivka and Toretsk. The enemy also struck Kostiantynivka with KABs.

In the Pokrovsk sector, since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have made 32 attempts to dislodge Ukrainian defenders from their positions in the areas of the settlements of Nykanorivka, Maiak, Myroliubivka, Novoekonomichne, Rodynske, Hrodivka, Sukhyi Yar, Lysivka, Chunyshyne, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, Horikhove, and Dachne. Defense Forces are holding back the enemy’s advance and have repelled 30 attacks; combat clashes continue.

Today, in the Novopavlivka sector, the enemy attacked seven times near the settlements of Yalta, Zelenyi Hai, Voskresenka, Shevchenko, and Komyshuvakha. Fighting continues in four locations. The enemy launched an air strike on Havrylivka.

In the Huliaipole sector, enemy aircraft attacked Bilohiria and Zaliznychne.

In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy launched air strikes on the areas of Malokaterynivka and Kushuhum, and Ukrainian units repelled one attack by the invaders near Plavni.

In the Prydniprovske sector, combat operations are ongoing. Enemy aircraft also carried out air strikes on Virivka and Odradokamianka.

No significant changes in the situation have been reported in other sectors of the front.

As reported by Ukrinform, 159 combat clashes between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian invaders were recorded on the frontline over the past day, August 24.
