Sappers from the Tsunami assault regiment of the National Police brigade Liut destroyed a strategically important site in Toretsk that could have fallen under Russian control.

This was reported on Facebook by the National Police of Ukraine, which also shared a video of the operation, according to Ukrinform.

According to the police, Ukrainian fighters carried out a mission that others might have called suicidal.

In Toretsk, they destroyed the building of an old swimming pool — a strategic site that could have allowed the enemy to advance almost undetected to positions held by Ukrainian forces.

Due to the threat, brigade leadership decided to demolish the building and deny the enemy a tactical advantage.

To plant the explosives, the sappers advanced under the cover of armored vehicles directly to the frontline.

“The operation was extremely complex, risky — and spectacularly successful,” the National Police noted.
