
The death toll from Russia’s August 28 missile and drone attack on Kyiv has risen to 21.
Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
“As of 20:45, the death of 21 people from the Russian attack on Kyiv has been confirmed. Search and rescue operations are ongoing,” Tkachenko wrote.
In the early hours of August 28, the Russian military carried out a combined strike on Kyiv, triggering a series of explosions. Significant destruction was recorded in the Shevchenkivskyi, Holosiivskyi, Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, and Desnianskyi districts.
In the Darnytskyi district, a five-story residential building was destroyed by the attack, and rescuers are still searching for people trapped under the rubble.
Earlier reports indicated 19 dead, 63 injured, and approximately ten more people believed to be under the rubble.
