Millions of Ukrainians are encountering russian propaganda every day. It spreads through TV, radio, mass media, social networks, and by word of mouth. To defeat the enemy, we must fight it on all fronts. To this end, we have prepared a daily compilation of russian fakes.
Today, the russian information space is not as active, as is usual on weekends. Media channels are still mostly filled with hatred towards Latvia and Poland, even calling hatred toward russians a pillar of Polish national ideas.
Foreign Minister Lavrov had a press day. He used the opportunity to call everybody who opposes russia a puppet of the US. According to him, opposing russia is not a thing that any normal person would do after witnessing all the horrible war crimes russia did in Ukraine, but a slavish fulfillment of the will of the US.
A phone call between US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and his russian counterpart took place after russian officials began to send signals about their willingness to negotiate with the west. russian propaganda portrayed it as not a testament to the kremlin’s willingness to negotiate, but as a sign of US weakness. According to russia, the US is so afraid of russian “biolabs” investigation, that they are bargaining to cover it up.

Lavrov is one of the main mouthpieces of the parallel reality in which the russian propaganda lives. Usually, he just repeats the main narratives: NATO is bad, everyone who opposes russia is a Nazi, things like that. But sometimes he says something new, something so monumentally stupid that many people refuse to believe that it actually happened.
This time, Lavrov, with a straight face, stated that russia is fighting for a “fair and democratic world”, where “a few chosen could not force their will on everyone else”.
Firstly, russia is the one trying to force its will onto everyone else! Exceptionalism is literally a part of russian national ideology, and their justification for the invasion of Ukraine could be summed up by the phrase “we are a great country, so we can do what we like”.
Secondly, how could russia, one of the most totalitarian countries in the world, a kleptocratic dictatorship where democracy, liberalism, and freedom of speech are viewed as “destructive influence of the west”, fight for a fair and democratic world?
Everything Lavrov says is the opposite of the truth. What then could be said about the country he represents?
