Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk and Director General of the International Committee of the Red Cross Robert Mardini discussed the possibility of opening humanitarian corridors from temporarily occupied areas.
As Ukrinform reports with reference to the website of the Ministry of Reintegration, the meeting between Vereshchuk and Mardini took place in Kyiv.
“We are very grateful to ICRC for constant cooperation. We hope that the support for Ukraine from international humanitarian organizations, including the ICRC, will continue in the future. Ukrainians especially need it ahead of the difficult autumn-winter period. However, I am sure that together we will withstand and win,” Vereshchuk said.
The parties also talked about the situation around the Zaporizhzhia NPP and the corresponding risks. It is noted that the Deputy Prime Minister and the ICRC Director General outlined the main humanitarian challenges and the vision of joint work for the coming year.
The parties also discussed topical issues of international humanitarian law, the Ministry of Reintegration added.
