The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky believes that there is no need to fear the Russian Federation. At the same time, he suggests Moscow could resort to deploying nuclear weapons.
He stated this in an interview with Czech television, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
The Ukrainian head of state refused to assess the likelihood of Russia using nuclear weapons in the ongoing war on Ukraine because, in his opinion, Russia prefers to do the opposite of what it claims.
“I wouldn’t like to offer such an assessment because such a threat is out there. I think that there is no need to fear it. There is no need to be afraid of Russia. I don’t think that they are adequate. They may or may not do certain things. There is no need to link Russia’s ultimatums or the fulfillment of their conditions, suggesting that if you don’t fulfill them, they will deploy nuclear weapons. This would be a big mistake. These things are unrelated,” Zelensky said.
As reported, on October 24, the commander of Ukraine’s Ground Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that the world should take seriously Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s threats to use nuclear weapons.
