The Ukroboronprom arms conglomerate ran a number of successful tests of the Ukrainian strike drone with a 1,000-km range.
That’s according to the company spokeswoman, Natalia Sad, who spoke at the national telethon, Ukrinform reports.
“As of today, a number of stages of successful tests have been completed. In accordance with the instructions of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we are moving to the stage of tests involving an e-warfare jamming environment,” she said.
Sad recalled that the concern recently broke the news on the development of a Ukrainian kamikaze drone with a payload of up to 75 kg of explosives.
“After we successfully test the drone under the EW influence, we hope to be able to test it in combat use. We promised to do so by the end of this year, and we are trying to live up to that promise,” said the spokeswoman.
As reported, on October 17, after yet another strike of the Geran-2 drones, originally called Shahed-136 (Iranian-made UAVs), Ukroboronprom published a photo of a metal structure with a blue bird and a yellow coat of arms, captioning it: “Range: 1,000 km, payload: 75 kg. Development being finalized.”
