Ukrainian illustrator Serhiy Maidukov refused to accept the Erich Maria Remarque Peace Prize on the same day as Russian writer Liudmyla Ulitskaya. Austrian authorities have automatically extended the validity of permits for asylum seekers from Ukraine.
