French President Emmanuel Macron has said that Ukraine will decide when and on what terms to end the war.
Macron stated this at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, Romania President Klaus Iohannis and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv on Thursday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
“We will do everything necessary so that Ukraine can choose its own destiny, make its own choice. And it is Ukraine that will decide at what point it will end the war, and at what point it will sit down at the negotiating table. […] Ukraine will decide on what terms it will rebuild peace,” he said.
French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi and Romanian President Klaus Iohannis arrived in Ukraine on June 16. They visited Irpin and held talks with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
