Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin said that peace and security are impossible until the impunity of those who commit inhumane crimes is put an end to.

As the Prosecutor General’s Office posted on Telegram, Kostin held several meetings as part of his official visit to Munich.

In particular, the Prosecutor General discussed the creation of the International Center for the Investigation into the Crime of Aggression in Ukraine with Minister of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Tobias Linder. As noted, the Center will be headquartered at The Hague.

“We support and strengthen cooperation with the International Criminal Court and the Prosecutor’s Office of the International Criminal Court. In parallel, we are working for the creation of the Center for the Crime of Aggression. I am firmly convinced that this is the first step towards the creation of a Special International Tribunal,” Kostin said.

In addition, during a meeting with ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan, Kostin stated that peace and security are impossible until the impunity of those who commit inhumane crimes is put an end to.

“We remain committed to holding war criminals to account,” he said.

During his visit to Munich, Kostin also discussed the issue of protecting the rights and interests of children forcibly deported by Russia with Vice-President of the European Commission for Democracy and Demography Dubravka Šuica.
