The first government-chartered group of Ukrainian refugees seeking shelter landed in St. John's, the capital of Canada’s province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The flight took off from the Polish city of Katowice. A total of 166 refugees were on board, including 55 children, CBC News reports. Eighty-one victims of political persecution were sentenced to imprisonment in the temporarily occupied Crimea. Their total term of punishment is 1,002 years and 2 months. "Eighty-one people were sentenced to real terms of imprisonment. The total duration of their sentences is 1,002 years and 2 months. More than 500,000 Ukrainians have been deported to remote regions of the Russian Federation. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky made the statement while addressing the Icelandic Parliament, an Ukrinform correspondent reports. Russia's Sberbank says it is working to identify those donating money to the Armed Forces of Ukraine using their cards.
